Electronic Software Surveillance

In these days, technology permeates every way in which we both work and socialise it’s difficult to know what information is being exchanged, electronic software surveillance offers clarity and insight. Businesses and private individuals can take steps if they believe that there is a potential risk. Software programs now allow the constant monitoring of “target devices” either a mobile phone or a computer. The software will relay back information such as number dialled, calls recorded, GPS positions from a mobile phone or e-mails sent/received, webpages viewed or passwords used from a computer. The software is undetectable. A business client who contacted us had been losing market share and reduced revenue, suspicion fell on an employee thought to be responsible. We were able to install then monitor the employee’s computer and phone, with the information we gathered a surveillance team was deployed and irrefutable evidence was obtained that the employee had been meeting with existing buyers but had not been selling the companies product but his own. It was proved that he had formed a company and was undercutting his employer. In another case, concerned parents had noticed that their child was displaying unusual behaviour patterns which once we had monitored the devices a secret “Facebook” page was being used and it became apparent that the child was involved with a group who were using drugs, alcohol and frequenting clubs. We contacted the clubs concerned to let them know about the licensing regarding under age drinker and the parents discussed the matter with their child, which brought about a successful conclusion. Technical Surveillance Counter Measures

TSCM or Technical Surveillance Counter Measures originated in the USA and describes the process of bug detection through sweeping and counter-surveillance. If you care about the information you hold then it is of vital importance that your office, home, communication channels and movements are not being monitored as this may lead to a detrimental insight into your private and or business affairs. There are steps that you can take if you believe that your privacy has been compromised. TSCM survey’s are a carried out by qualified individuals, and it will provide a professional evaluation of your residence or location, consisting of a thorough visual, electronic, and physical examination. Bugging devices can take all shapes and sizes,to suit the situation they are being used in. They are designed to blend into their environment, or be small enough to be hidden from sight. Typically sweeps are carried out in corporate offices on a regular basis in areas where confidential business intelligence is discussed. Residential building and vehicles can also be kept secure by regular sweeps. Tell tale signs of you being monitored : Your competitors know your business? Others know what you are about to do before you announce it? Is information clearly being leaked? Has your telephone dial tone changed in sound recently? Noticed that furniture or desk items not in quite the right place? Have the settings changed on your laptop or desktop computer? Files missing? Photocopier been used? Door locks become stiff or difficult to operate? Unexplained events? callers and visitors to your office or home? If the answer to any of the above is yes then you may well be the victim of a bugging operation that...

In Car Dashboard Cameras

In car dashboard cameras have soared in popularity recently and offer the safe driver assurance that no matter what happens when they are driving the events will be recorded. Driving in Manchester, Liverpool, London or any major city, increases the risk of accident damage and over the years I have been involved in a couple of car accidents myself. The difficulty, after an incident for your insurance company, can be proving  the other driver to be liable for the damage. We have a number of vehicles which have fitted the Blackvue camera system which records 24/7.  The units cost a couple of hundred pounds but are worth their weight in gold for the video footage that they capture whilst the vehicle is moving and when parked. As I mentioned we decided to deploy these cameras on all our vehicles and it came in particularly useful the other night when an on coming driver went into the front wing of my own vehicle. I for one feel that we live in a culture which in many ways is very invasive, a strange comment from a private investigator you may think perhaps ! However we also have great respect for individuals rights,  the proliferation of CCTV cameras in our society has to be balanced against the right to privacy, we all should have to move freely without continual monitoring (strategic security location accepted). Getting back to the subject matter, these unit now offer WiFi so that your smartphone can see real-time footage (especially useful to correct the angle of the lens) and the recorded events. Catching perpetrators in the act defines the moment, the recording can then be used...

Future Surveillance Technologies

Gathering information is a crucial part of any investigation, and an absolute must when investigating cases of matrimonial infidelity or insurance fraud, private investigation companies are usually quick to seize upon future surveillance technologies as they are released. A lot of these technologies are developed in the military arena, although they are initially very expensive mainly due to the R&D expense, the cost soon reduces once they become produced in mass volume and the component parts are produced in countries with lower costs such as the far east. Take for instance the development of UAV (Unmanned Ariel Vehicle) which are planes without on-board pilots. These have been used to fly in otherwise dangerous airspace and deliver payloads to high risk locations. Now take that full-size technology and miniaturize it……..well its already happened, as illustrated in the picture below. (see the British Army Test pictures and video below) If we use Gordon Moores law, which is essentially cost halves and capacity doubles each 18 months it follows that the development of these unit will soon be common place in the theatre of war, and not long after, civilian life. It is, depending on your point of view (not) that the future is most definitely Orwellian. Current surveillance technologies such as CCTV and speed cameras pale to insignificance with the advent of what is being developed and the word privacy may soon have to be redefined. We are as, a company and individuals, firm proponents of individual and societal rights to privacy. Mass surveillance (CCTV) has not reduced crime, it has therefore been proven, not to work for the purpose it was intended. The micro-nano UAV below is not so much in future as around...
Audio Surveillance Devices

Audio Surveillance Devices

Investigators Greater London have had a lot of clients asking for installation of Audio Surveillance Devices in private premises and private vehicles.Whilst installing in private premises you require a good place, out of view to deploy the device in what ever room you require the device to record in, however when dealing with vehicles a couple of things need to be taken into consideration; if the vehicle is quite new you can place the device almost any where, but making sure you avoid installing it near stereo speakers. Commercial vehicles however are a very different prospect altogether, since you have an awful lot of background noise to deal with, We have found that when deploying in mini buses and other PSV vehicles the best place to deploy is behind the front passenger chair underneath the seat belt holder. Placing the device here cuts out the engine noise of most engines, even old diesels whilst being far enough away from the stereo speakers to capture all of your essential voice recordings. Mini Recorders At Investigators Greater London we recommend using these Audio Surveillance Devices devices , you will be amazed will the quality of the recordings, it’s size and weight. These devices which are produced and distributed from Russia. operate a recording time of  300 up to 1200 hours depending on your recording mode If set up in Voice Activated System (VAS) mode the recording time can reach the 1200 hours, however if there is a lot of vocal activity your recording time will shorten, so you make sure you arrange for the devices to be swapped over whilst the old ones contents can be recovered and the unit recharged ready...

Miniature Surveillance Camera – Example Footage

Our miniature surveillance cameras whether hand held or worn on the body are of the highest quality and are regularly updated to the latest models out on the market guaranteeing you the clearest images available. These can be used in many scenarios and are very rarely detected when used by an experienced operator. Mini cameras offer you the opportunity to collect sensitive and covert material. Cameras can be deployed either covert or overt. In the main it is covert which are used to film and gather evidence. Cameras can be placed on surfaces internal and external. Body worn for close up work when dealing with individuals face to face. Some cameras have the ability to send from their location GSM photo images/video and run on battery power for weeks/months at a time, these are particularly useful in remote or difficult placements be that rural or where a surveillance operative would be apparent. Placing a surveillance operative is sometime not possible or the cost is such that it is outweighed when compared to a remote camera. The success of a surveillance is whether the objective has been fulfilled. This video shows the quality and clarity of the footage obtained using our covert miniature cameras. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=mQeykmZZyo4 Click the button at the bottom-right of the video to view in full...
